Certification of your documentation

If you already have a documented management system to meet the requirements of the NSW Government guidelines, you will need to get it certified. Click here to find out more about the certification process. There are some important things to note here:

• The guidelines allow for a certificate to be issued that is valid for up to 3 years. Watch out for companies that want to audit you every 6 months as they are just taking your money

• The audit has to be conducted by a person who is not associated with the contractor or the person writing the documentation. If you are talking to a consultant who is going to write your system and give you a certificate, be very careful as you may end up with a cetificate that is not valid or a system that is not up to scratch.

• The auditor must be registered with Exemplar Global (formely RABQSA) as a principal, lead or business improvement OHS Auditor.

Project Audits and inspections

Many NSW Government construction contracts require that the contractor engages an independant auditor to conduct audits and inspections on the project.
